After installation, print a test page to ensure your printer is functioning properly.
Step 1: Reconnect the USB Cable
Ensure a secure connection between your printer and computer:

Unplug the USB cable from both the printer and the computer.

Wait a few seconds.

Firmly reconnect the cable to both devices.

Restart the printer installation process.

Step 2: Test the USB Port
Verify that the USB port is functioning properly:

Connect the printer to a different USB port.

Alternatively, test the current port by plugging in another USB device.

Step 3: Use a Different USB Cable
A defective cable may cause connection issues:

Replace the current cable with a new or known working USB cable.

Reconnect the printer and computer, then restart the setup process.
Step 4: Disconnect Unnecessary USB Devices
Excess USB devices can cause conflicts:

Unplug all non-essential USB devices (e.g., external drives, cameras).

Keep only the mouse, keyboard, and printer connected.

Retry the printer installation.
Step 5: Perform a Printer Power Reset
Resetting the printer can restore USB communication:

Turn off the printer and unplug it from the wall.

Wait at least 60 seconds.

Plug the printer back into a direct wall outlet and power it on.
If the setup resumes automatically, continue with the installation; otherwise, launch the installer manually.
Step 6: Update Drivers via Device Manager

Open Device Manager (search from Start).

Expand Printers or USB Controllers.

Right-click your printer → Update driver → Search automatically for drivers.
Step 7: Uninstall Previous Printer Software

Open Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program.

Find and remove your printer software.

Restart your computer before reinstalling.
Step 8: Clear Temporary Files

Open Disk Cleanup (search from Start).
-
Select your system drive (C:).
-
Choose file categories and click OK to delete them.
Step 9: Perform a Clean Boot to Disable Interference

Open System Configuration (search “msconfig”).

Under General, select Selective startup and uncheck Load startup items.

In Services, check Hide all Microsoft services, then disable the rest.

Restart your computer and run the printer setup again.
